Rim Rock's Dogwood Cabins is a pet friendly lodging facility in Southern Illinois that is perfectly situated within the beautiful Shawnee National Forest and less than 10 minutes from the  main draw of the area; Garden of the Gods. 

 

New in 2023 we have added an additional property  including one deluxe cabin for a total of seven. We have our original 6 unique cabins that are comfortably spaced on 77 picturesque acres with over 2 miles of private trails and surrounded by  many miles of trees and the unique rock formations that the Illinois Ozarks area is known for.  Our deluxe cabin resides on 11 private acres with multiple secluded trails right across the street from our property.

 

All of our cabins have full kitchens with cookware, dedicated fiber optic internet, HD satellite TV, DVD, screened-in porch, outdoor fire rings w/free firewood, A/C and heat, towels and linens, movies games and more. We also have some friendly animals to visit;  a llama, alpaca, miniature cows, donkey's, and horses as well as  goats, chickens/guineas and our 4 puppies, most notable is Scout our Great Pyrenees.

Our goal is to provide you with the perfect home away from home for those looking to explore the best destination hikes and waterfalls in the Midwest, take in some of the darkest skies in Illinois or soak up the solitude for those just looking for peace and quiet.

Looking for a great place to have a destination wedding or family reunion? Look no further. Our 7 cabins can accommodate 50+ guests. We have a beautiful pavilion with concrete floor to hold events, multiple sitting areas, nice big pastures and room to spread out. We have 2 sets of 3 cabins that are about 1/3 mile apart and 1 directly across the street. The cabins on each end of the property are spaced 30-70 yards from each other. Close enough to easily get together and far enough apart to have your own personal space.

Southern Illinois and the Illinois Ozarks are truly a hidden gem of the Midwest for outdoor enthusiasts. Located just 1 hour from Interstates 64 or 57, we are within an easy drive of Chicago, St Louis, Champaign, Springfield IL, Peoria, Evansville, Louisville, Nashville, Cape Girardeau, Indianapolis, Cincinnati or anyone passing through.
